The 5 Types of Water
Kangen water ionizers are capable of producing 5 types of water for drinking, cleaning and beauty:
Strong Alkaline Water (pH 11.0)
Strong Kangen Water has a very strong cleaning effect and can be used for sterilizing vegetables and poultry, removing stains and dish washing.
Ionized Alkaline Water (pH 8.5 – 9.5)
Kangen Water is ideal for drinking and comes in 3 different alkaline pH levels of 8.5, 9.0, and 9.5. It has a powerful dissolving effect as a result of its micro-clustered state and can be used to draw out the full flavour of coffee, tea, vegetables, soups and stew.

Comparing Kangen Water Ionizer with other ionizers:
There are now many new water ionizer machines out there in the market since the success of the LeveLuk Kangen Water Ionizer Series.
Unknown to the public, many new and upcoming alkaline water ionizer brands claim to be in the industry for many years, when many of them actually only purchased Private Label Branding Rights from manufacturers that produce cheap and low quality machines.
There have been reports of people drinking from alkaline water ionizers that use multi filters (one of which uses coral calcium) and getting kidney stones.

The electrode plate used in the electrolysis cell is also larger and thicker than other ionizers in the market. As a result, the electrode plates in Kangen Water
Ionizers are very durable and completely rust-proof.
2) Power supply unit
Water Ionizers require high wattage(230 watts) and a continuous power supply to their electrolysis plates in order to ionize the water. Each and every Kangen Water Ionizer is built to withstand the high wattage passing through the ionizing plates. Many other units with lower grade titanium, platinum and flimsier electrolysis plates simply cannot handle the high wattage and over heat or even melt, releasing toxic chemicals to the water as a result.
3) Automatic Cleaning System
Mineral clusters may stick to the electrode plates of any water ionizer due to the existing minerals present in the water supply. This attachment decreases the functionality of producing alkaline water, resulting in a short life span of the machine. Alkaline Ionized Water or Miracle Water?
Many claims on the healing powers of miracle waters in France, Germany, Mexico, and various parts of the world have surfaced over the past century. Clinical test results have shown these waters to contain a very strong reducing agent known as active hydrogen. How Many Fruits Can We Eat A Day?

The Concept of Oxidation and Reduction
Let’s understand the concept of oxidation and reduction.
What is oxidation?
Oxidation is the reaction of substances when they come in contact with oxygen. It is easier to understand this process by looking at oxidation as the loss of electrons during a reaction. A very good example would be a cut apple turning brown on the inner surface or a nail rusting due to oxidation.
The above shows the oxidation process that has occurred in the apple when exposed to oxygen from the surrounding air.
What is reduction?
Reduction is the opposite of oxidation, where an addition of at least one electron takes place during a reaction between substances. Substances that readily donate electrons are seen as good reducing agents. Examples of good reducers include magnesium, iron, zinc, and sodium.
Magnesium donates electrons to Chlorine in the above reaction, reducing the Chlorine.

The same active hydrogen is produced in ionized alkaline water by passing a strong electrical current through water – a process known as electrolysis. This breaks the water molecules apart, creating Hydroxyl lons(OH–) and Hydrogen Gas(H). However, since active hydrogen and molecular hydrogen evaporate quickly, the water has to be consumed fresh from its source.
To measure the ORP(antioxidant levels) of various agents, an ORP probe is used. ORP stands for Oxidation Reduction Potential and is measured in millivolts. A high negative reading suggests a high reduction potential and a high positive reading suggests a high oxidation potential. Ionized Alkaline Water has antioxidant properties and produces a high negative ORP reading when measured by a ORP reading device.
Micro-clustering of Water Molecules in Ionized Alkaline Water
Non-ionized water cluster together in groups of 10 to 20 molecules. Ionized water are smaller micro-clusters of water molecules made up of 4 to 6 molecules and are hexagonal in shape. This means that the water is able to permeate cell membranes quicker and more efficiently. This increased permeability means that it can move water soluble toxins in and out of the cells quicker than your body does normally. It also allows you to move nutrients and minerals into the cells quicker. This is the main reason people report feeling less fatigue when drinking alkaline water.

Research from the National Cancer Institute stated in a fact sheet that “Antioxidants protect cells from damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals.”

How Do You Define Good Health?
A friend of mine, a fitness fanatic, went for his regular health check up about a year ago. His doctor told him he was at the brink of health. No cancer, no cardiovascular problems, normal blood pressure, nothing in particular that would strike any cause for attention.
Just a couple of months ago, i received news from him that he had a tumor growing in his colon. It certainly came as a surprise to me, to those around him, and to him especially.
So what defines good health? Good health is neither the absence of disease nor is it the state of mental, physical, and social well-being. The answer is a rather subjective one. In my opinion, good health is an ongoing state of wellness that can be attained by having a constant supply of antioxidants, maintaining an optimal balance of acidity and alkalinity in your body, and being free from the damage of free radicals that are present everywhere in our environment.
The Root of Diseases
Most of us are not aware that the overall health of our body depends a lot on the health of the membrane of our cells. And perhaps we are also not aware that these cell membranes are bombarded by free radicals at an average of 10,000 times in our environment. Free radicals get generated by pollution, emotional stress, smoking, unhealthy diet etc. Therefore people in Singapore are turning to alkaline water for better health and drinking pure water.

As cells become weakened and burdened with toxic wastes caused by free radical damage, your body’s natural pH becomes unbalanced, and even dehydrated. When your body is acidic, it becomes prone to sickness and diseases. Blood functions at a narrow range of pH 7.35 to pH 7.45 and this is strictly regulated by our bodies. If the body fails to regulate the required pH of our body and defend against the dominance of acidity, metabolic acidosis develops.
The Importance of Drinking Quality Water
It is recommended that the average human drink between 2 and 3 litres of water a day. The human body is made of two/thirds water and without the proper replenishment we suffer from dehydration, the results of which include tiredness, migraine, muscle cramps, constipation, dry skin and irregular blood pressure.
Quality drinking water should be free of biological, chemical and physical contaminants. Below we will discuss the problems that arise from the different sources of drinking water.
The Unforeseen Dangers in Common Types of Drinking Water
We often find many different types of water being promoted for better health. Distillation is used to get distilled water where chemicals and bacteria have been removed from the water. There are other dietary chemicals like Sodium, Magnesium and Calcium that are essential for our body. Removal of these could lead to electrolyte imbalance. This is also known as dead water which cause s more harm to our health. There is growing awareness about the alkaline water benefits.
Complications of Bottled Water
More than 100 brands of bottled water were tested by the Natural Resources Defense Council or the NRDC and most of them were found to be simple tap water. Some even showed carrying dangerous levels of arsenic and bacteria. Many homes in US and other parts of the world rely on these bottled brands that might be causing more harm than good. It is time people got aware on the benefit of alkaline water for their health.
Problems With Tap Water
The level of contaminants allowed in tap water is regulated by the EPA and FDA is the USA, and in the UK by DEFRA. However the contaminants are never leveled at 0 and they can often exceed this dose when standards slip.
Water processing in itself involves the addition of chemicals such as liquefied chlorine, flurosilicic acid, aluminium sulphate, calcium hydrocide and sodium silicofluride. In general a typical batch of water contains the above and salts of radium, copper, mercury, lead, cadmium, barium, hormones, nitrates and pesticides. Whilst many are only found in small quantities, they build up over time in the body’s cells and cause disease later in life.
Problems with Reverse Osmosis Water
Another process of water purification is reverse osmosis that uses pressure to force water across a membrane. Compounds like pesticides and chlorines too pass though the membrane and therefore we cannot rely on reverse osmosis water to be completely pure. It is essential for us to realize the benefit of alkaline water for our health.
Chlorine – This is added to kill biological contaminants such as bacteria and parasites. It however is a poison and has been linked to bladder cancer (Villanueva et al 2002) and asthma attacks.
Hormones – High doses of synthetic oestrogen and other hormones, from pharmaceutics, birth control, industry, plastics and livestock and ends up in our drinking water. These chemicals disrupt the body’s natural endocrine system and can cause diseases such as breast cancer. It has also been linked to obesity and impotence.
Arsenic
– Is a poisonous heavy metal compound that has been linked to chronic lung disease.

The ANESPA
contains a blend of natural hot spring ingredients and minerals that
makes the water slightly alkaline and very relaxing!
Tufa
A mineral stone
taken directly from the Futamata Radium Hot spring in Hokkaido,
Japan. This stone gives the water the same gentle and relaxing effect
of a hot spring.
MIC stone
Generates
activated mildly alkaline water which is good for your skin.
Power stone

External Filter
The first task
is to filter out harmful components of the water: chlorine,
trihalomethanes, phenols, sediment, odor, taste, and organic waste.
Enagic’s water
makers achieve this by the use of a multistage activated carbon
filter containing antibacterial granular activated carbon and Calcium
Sulfite
2.
Neodymium magnet
This high
quality magnet can decompose the water molecules into smaller
clusters to activate the water and change the water to slightly
stimulated water. At the same time, it helps the water to better
absorb minerals.
3.
Ceramic cartridge
The cartridge
has a layer of ceramic filling. The layer of ceramic filling is about
3 times thicker than other products on the market. Ceramic balls of
both Futumata Radium Hot spring and Chikutan are comfortably filled
in a single cartridge.
4.
Relaxing water
The ANESPA
creates abundant flow of hot water; 15 liters per minute (~4
gallons/minute). The massaging shower head adds to the relaxing
effect.
